Road Trip Packing Essentials

I posted about taking a road trip a little while back and finally I have made time to take one! I'll be spending the weekend at my family's beautiful home in Winhall, Vermont. In preparation for the weekend I decided to share some of my road trip essentials.

A heavy sweater
Cute, cozy socks
My favorite, warmest mittens
My Sorel boots, cozy and functional!
My favorite book, East of Eden
A bold printed scarf
An easy to wear beanie
A notebook to jot down ideas & inspiration.Vermont always gets my creative juices flowing.

My main concern in Vermont is warmth. My days are spent outside on the mountain and trekking through the woods. If you're not bundled up the cold will go right to your core. Cozy sweaters with fun prints, and cute wool socks make staying warm easy and don't force you to sacrifice style for function.

What are your road trip essentials?

Comfort Dressing: Beat the Monday Blues

Tank: Free People Button Down: Quicksilver  Jeans: Free People
Sneakers: Vans  Headband: Free People

Mondays are always a little rough for me. They mark the beginning of a rough week of classes and always start earlier than I would like. (I am not a morning peron.) So when getting dressed on those dreaded Mondays I have one thing in mind: comfort. A great pair of worn in jeans and a cute pair of sneakers seems to be my go to look when taking on the begininning of the week.  I love how this pair adds a fun pop of color to the look.  I have to say the bold hue worked wonders on my mood.  And without realizing it, I added a bit of patriotism to my look as our nation celebrated our past and present Presidents. I didn't realize when I was getting dressed that it was Presidents Day.  What a happy coincidence!

What is your go to comfy look?

A little love for my readers!  You guys are the best!

To Do: Road Trip

I always catch the travel bug around this time of year.  I have been cooped up at home all winter, stuck in my usual routine, and I am yearning to get out and explore.  Once the weather warms up I am thinking that a road trip is in order. There is so much out there that I have yet to experience and I want to see it all.

At the top of my list of destinations is New Hope, Pennsylvania. I fell in love with this quaint little town after reading about it on one of my favorite blogs, Hummusbird.  It's filled with vintage shops and unique restaurants, treasures around every corner.  I can't wait to see what I will discover!

Have you caught the travel bug?  Tell me where you are longing to go!

Inspired by Color

I usually learn towards neutral, earthy palates.  But with spring on its way I find myself being drawn to the beautiful, bold colors inspired by spring.  As the world around me bursts with color so does my wardrobe.  There are so many beautiful colors found in nature, what better inspiration than our mother earth?  This season I am going to try incorporating more bold shades into my outfits.  I'm thinking pinks and teals.  I can't wait for this frigid weather to warm up so that I can break out some of my most loved spring pieces, and of course wear some of my newest spring purchases!
