and so it has begun. sandy has descended on the east coast, essentially shutting down the entire coast line. but im sure you know this already since the news is treating this like the apocalypse. while i am dreading the prospect of no power for upwards of 7 days, i am loving the downtime that sandy has afforded me. i plan on spending plenty of time in my bed with my puppy, a good book, and a cup of tea. nothing to do and all day to do it. oh the possibilities are endless...

i felt that a little mermaid reference was ever so appropriate. i've posted about my anthro outings before, and i must say every time i drop in i am met with an overwhelming amount of inspiration. thus, i give you, anthropologie part due.
|my beautiful best friend hailee!|
would it be completely inappropriate to live in anthro? a girl can dream.
i finally got to downloading the many pictures from my camera and happened upon these snapshots from a beautiful summer day. i was leaving work and was so captured by the beauty of the day, i had to commemorate it with a few pictures. makes me long for those hazy, lazy summer days once again. ah, memories.

so its no secret that i am more than a little infatuated with the perfectly disheveled, model off duty look. to me there is nothing sexier than a slouchy t shirt paired with destroyed boyfriend jeans and a pair of amazing heels. and maybe an oversized sweater. or blazer as the case may be. heels may not be included in everyone definition of "casual dressing" but i've always been one to stray from convention. viva la casual.

I am so infatuated with the idea of capturing a moment in time. Whether in film, word, painting, anything really. Time is so fleeting and precious. To capture it is to see a memory, to relive a moment of time. It is so whimsical and magical to me, truly. So go out and capture a moment today. Revel in it. And keep it forever.

During this beautiful season of change I am always drawn to the woods. I feel so at ease amongst the trees. The overwhelming silence of the forest overwhelms you, punctured only by the occasional song of a bird hidden among the limbs or the rustling of a creature unseen. Soft, hazy light filters in through the leaves, and everything around you feels so alive yet so still. Take a moment and loose yourself among the trees.
Im feeling rather inspired by this lovely fall weather. I love the model off duty vibe that these looks give off- carelessly thrown together yet undoubtedly stylish and chic. The ultimate, "Oh, this old thing? I just threw it on," look. What are your favorite fall looks?
I swoon for romantic bedrooms. White everything, exposed brick, plush bedding, antique furniture, soft, hazy lighting. I need to be able to feel completely at peace in my bedroom, and this romantic, bohemian atmosphere captured by these bedrooms makes me feel so at luxurious and at ease. I am lusting for that last bedroom, the ceiling really takes it over the top for me. It reminds me of the forts I used to make as a child. One day....
Work, class, homework, laundry, papers; it seems like we always have something going on. But I find that when we go through our To Do Lists, "me time" rarely makes the list. How is it that we have become so busy that we cant schedule time for ourselves? We should all make a commitment to ourselves to indulge in a good book, wander around in the woods, cook an amazing meal for yourself: to set aside some time and devote it to yourself.
